Billy Charland, Brian Rodriguez Lead Day 1 of the 2023 Blazer Boats Xtreme Bass Series Championship presented by Mercury Marine and Discover Lake County

Leesburg, FL-A record setting championship field of 178 teams set out this morning on the Harris Chain of Lakes for day 1 of the 2023 Blazer Boats Xtreme Bass Series Championship presented by Mercury Marine and Discover Lake County. Teams from 12 divisions across Florida who qualified for the end of season event are vying for the top prize of a new Blazer Boats 625 Pro Elite powered by a Mercury Marine 250 Pro XS, anchored by 8′ Power-Pole Blades and moved from the bow with a Power-Pole Move trolling motor valued at $85,000.00.

The Harris Chain was stingy to the filed of competitors on day one of the two day event. Billy Charland of Lakeland, FL and Brian Rodriguez of Orlando, FL  qualified through the Toho and John’s Lake divisions and find themselves leading the charge, ending day 1 with an 18.81 pound, 5 bass limit.

Gary Yearry, Jr. and Aaron Phillips, both of Lake Wales, FL  qualified in the Central Florida division and are sitting close behind in second place with 18.25 pounds.

Michael Cabaong of Valrico, FL and Clay Mock of Winter Haven, FL also qualified through the Central Florida division. Cabaong and Mock sit in third place with 18.04 pounds.

Rounding out the Top 5 are Bobby Miller & Jeremy Knepper in fourth place with 17.86 pounds, followed by Michael Bechard and Billy Bechard in fifth place with 17.00 pounds.

Chase Burlew and Robbie Anderson took the top Big Bass spot on day one with an 8.53 pound TrophyCatch worth $1,250.00

Jonathan Semento and Rick Bak took second Big Bass honors for day one with an 8.33 pound TrophyCatch worth $530.00

Teams will take off again tomorrow morning from Ski Beach Park at Venetian Gardens. Weigh-in will begin at 3:00. Plans to have a live stream of the day 2 weigh-in will be attempted on the Xtreme Bass Series YouTube channel.
