Marlon Crowder and Kris Smythe Come From Behind to Win 2023 Blazer Boats Xtreme Bass Series Championship presented by Mercury Marine and Discover Lake County

Leesburg, FL- Marlon Crowder of Tampa, FL and Kris Smythe of Plant City,  FL overcame a stacked field on a tough Harris Chain of Lakes to win the 2023 Blazer Boats Xtreme Bass Series Championship presented by Mercury Marine and Discover Lake County. The duo from the Kissimmee and Toho divisions weighed a tournament best 27.82 pound, 5 bass limit on day 2 for a two day total of 43.21 pounds to take home a new Blazer 625 Pro Elite package powered by a 250 Mercury Pro XS, paired with a Power-Pole Move and 8′ Power-Pole Blades, valued at $85,000.00.

Anthony DiFonzo and Richard Delabar made a large comeback as well, weighing a 22.87 pound, 5 bass limit on day two for a two day total of 37.79 pounds to finish in second place and earn $4,000.00 and a Power-Pole Pro Series II shallow water anchor. DiFonzo and Delabar took home an additional $530.00 for 2nd Big Bass on Day 2.

Jonathan Semento and Rick Bak finished the event in third place with a 34.35 pound two day total to earn $2,500.00. Semento and Bak took home an additional $530.00

Brandon Williams and Jesse Williams took home a fourth place finish, bringing 34.07 pounds over the course of two days to take home $2,000.00. The Williams brothers were the North River divisional points champions and the highest finishing divisional points champions team during the 2023 Championship. With that, they also took home the Omnia Fishing Team of the Year honors, earning no-cost entries into one division for the 2024 season, Omnia gift cards, a pair of Fitzgerald Rods, and a pair of Catch Commander scales.

Rounding out the Top 5 in fifth place was the team of Mason Wooten and Ricky Bush who weighed 34.07 pounds over two days of competition to earn $1,400.00.

Michael Porter and Chris Maxwell earned Big Bass honors for day two with an 8.15 pound TrophyCatch to earn $1,250.00.

Overall Big Bass of the event went to Chase Burlew and Robbie Anderson for their day one 8.53 pound TrophyCatch to earn $1,250.00 as well.

Joey Pate and Logan Pate were the highest finishing Frequent Fishing Program qualified team during the championship, taking home $500.00 and the Michael J. Blocher Memorial Award.
